Every instance since the beginning of time has been a coincidence: A leaf in a tree embodies the combined efforts of the earth, water, wind, stars, and sunshine. When you realize that everything has led to the present, to this moment, you see there’s nothing to be afraid of, nothing to be burdened by. The present moment is the moment of arrival – and it took the entire universe to create it. All is as it should be.
We have lost contact with reality, the simplicity of life.
Help me to change the world is an invitation to be authentic, to follow your heart, to be free of superstitions and lies. And I’m not asking you to try to change the world. Don’t try: just do it.
You don’t have to wait for something ‘meaningful’ to come into your life so that you can finally enjoy what you do. There is more meaning in joy than you will ever need. The ‘waiting to start living’ syndrome is one of the most common delusions of the unconscious state.
But the disappearance of the effort to let go is precisely the disappearance of the separate thinker, of the ego trying to watch the mind without interfering.
The development of our minds and our destination in future lives is in our hands. No one else can help us. It is very important that we each take responsibility for ourselves. Sustain mindfulness 24 hours a day. Thank you. That is all.
Our appointment with life is in the present moment. If we do not have peace and joy right now, when will we have peace and joy?
Only within our body, with its heart and mind, can bondage and suffering be found, and only here can we find true liberation.
Something you want badly enough can always be gained. No matter how fierce the enemy, how remote the beautiful lady, or how carefully guarded the treasure, there is always a means to the goal for the earnest seeker. The unseen help of the guardian gods of heaven and earth assure fulfillment.
Is it a religious life to punish oneself? Is mortification of the
body or of the mind a sign of understanding? Is self-torture a way to
reality? Is chastity denial? Do you think you can go far through
renunciation? Do you really think there can be peace through conflict?
Does not the means matter infinitely more than the end? The end may be,
but the means is. The actual, the what is, must be understood and not
smothered by determinations, ideals and clever rationalizations. Sorrow
is not the way of happiness. The thing called passion has to be
understood and not suppressed or sublimated, and it is no good finding a
substitute for it. Whatever you may do, any device that you invent,
will only strengthen that which has not been loved and understood. To
love what we call passion is to understand it. To love is to be in
direct communion; and you cannot love something if you resent it, if you
have ideas, conclusions about it. How can you love and understand
passion if you have taken a vow against it? A vow is a form of
resistance, and what you resist ultimately conquers you. Truth is not to
be conquered; you cannot storm it; it will slip through your hands if
you try to grasp it. Truth comes silently, without your knowing. What
you know is not truth, it is only an idea, a symbol. The shadow is not
